Pregnant or thinking about it?
If you are thinking of getting pregnant then that’s great news as we love babies at Village Health. There are some blood tests that are handy to have done BEFORE you get pregnant so pop in and see the practice nurse and she can arrange for those to be done. You should also be taking Folic acid while you are trying to conceive and iodine once the pregnancy is confirmed. The practice nurse can organise your prescription with the doctor. If you think you may have some problems (significant medical problems or fertility issues) then book in with the doctor about a week after the appointment with the nurse. If you want to read more about what to expect then have a look at the Health Info website keyword “pregnancy”.
You may or may not be excited about this news…
Yes I’m Excited!
Congratulations, we love babies at Village Health. Please make an appointment with the practice nurse to get the ball rolling. At that appointment she will give you some information, a blood form to have your first antenatal bloods done and will get the doctor to prescribe you folate and iodine. I’m not sure!
We understand that finding out that you are pregnant can be daunting. First make an appointment with the practice nurse and she will confirm your pregnancy with a urine test, give you forms for blood tests etc and take baseline recordings which you will need no matter what decision you make. Then make an appointment with the doctor who can take you through your options -a couple of days later is better as we then have the blood test results –but we are happy to see you anytime.
